This was a 2-part event supported by the LA Arts Community Fire Relief Fund. QSN held a spa-kit making pop-up and giveaway focusing on community care for people impacted by the recent wildfires. During traumatic displacement, it is important to find moments in which we can be grounded in our bodies. Our “Give One Take One” event was a self care item making workshop in which the public can join us in making self care items for people impacted by wildfires. In the workshop, participants learned about how they can make their own self care items, the healing power of herbs, and how they can additionally support people impacted by wildfires. We then distributed the self care items that are created in the workshop to mutual aid partners who can distribute the items to their larger networks.
Previously made spa products were given away at the LA Arts Community Fire Relief Fund Community Gathering, where visitors were also invited to learn and make their own products.
